All, Here is a write-up on window rubber from Chris E. on Facebook. Materials: www.homedepot.com/p/Frost-King-E-O-5-16-in-x-1-4-in-x-17-ft-Black-EPDM-Cellular-Rubber-Weatherstrip-Tape-V25BK/202844545Frost King EPDM D-Profile Rubber Weatherstrip, 5/16”x1/4” (sold in 17ft. lengths) Pop out the tracks with a soft pry tool. This can take a little bit of work but it will happen. Be patient Scrape out the old dried rubber and clean the tracks. Now bend the tabs back to stock shape so that they are tight when reinstalled. Last thing you want is the track falling into the door. Now you can peel and lay in the foam. Leave a quarter inch over on each side to trim later. The inner track is always harder to get in so do it first. This will save stress. Once all the tabs give you that solid lock, go ahead and trim the foam to size so you get a tight seal. Side note. The tabs on the tracks should be oriented with the split side facing the ground. If you don't you're gonna have a bad time mmmkay. Lol have fun and enjoy. Good luck!

Excellent writeup there!
I kinda hate to resurrect an old thread, but this looks like a first gen truck in the writeup... Anyone know if this same material will work for a second gen as well?

I used the full door rubber from a Chevy S10 on my 82 B2000 and it is an oversized fit, must slam the door for it to latch and it does not 'relax' as said Its still very hard to close the door without slamming it but it beats the door rattle I had when I bought it. Good call on that rubber insulation, must give it a shot.
