Here is what I'm starting with. Here's the stance and look I'm shooting for. Here's a PhotoShop rendition of some of the things I'm thinking about doing. I like the idea of creating a sleeper. Here's the plan. 1. Keep the stock red color, maybe even keep the original striping. 2. Lower the truck. 3. Install aluminum headed, roller 351W with C4 transmission. Have both and most all parts to complete. 4. Installing Ford 8.75" 3.73 locker disc brake rear end. I don't yet have it narrowed. 5. I'm thinking about using Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 15" wheels, which mount right up to Courier hubs and accept Courier hubcaps. I would have the front wheels narrowed to 4" and the rears barreled and widened to at least 10". 6. I would add a rocker panel to the bed in front of the rear wheels. 7. I want to shorten the bed in front of the rear wheels 3". This would make my '74 bed the same length as a '76 bed and make my truck 3" shorter than any 1st or 2nd Gen Courier on the planet. 8. I would remove all bedside tie down hooks. 9. I would modify the rear wheel openings to look more like the front by removing the skirted look of 1st Gen Couriers. 10. I would like to remove the vent windows and install one off custom glass. If this is not possible I will blackout the vent and window framing. 74RedCourier

74redcourier, Looks like a clean starting point! I like that you have all your plans understood, too. Finding a direction and specific goals can be the hardest part of a project! I assume you're planning to drag it (with the narrowed front wheels), if not what are your plans? Street/strip?
If it were me I would leave the stripe on the original paint, I think that kind of graphic is just too cool.
If you do the rocker panel on the bed please do some kind of write up. I have considered the same thing, and if I remember right there's a guy on the facebook group who has done that. Is there a purpose beyond the looks for shortening the bed? Just curious. Best of luck and I hope this group can help you along the way!' Doug
