if you use t.coupe/ranger transmission you need a mini starter from 91 5.0 crown vic(this part is also equiped on may other fords i just remember this one off top of head).
If you can find factory courier 2.3 motor mounts they will work.
ranger trans shouldnt require cutting tunnel for transmission t.bird/mustang trans will require cutting.
Need fuel pump for fuel injection. I modified courier tank to accomidate ranger fuel pump assembly and and upgraded 260 lph fuel pump.
You will need down pipe to fit your turbo. For stock performance levels 2" cat back exhaust will surfice but consider 2 3/4 and above for high performance applications
drive shaft from 89-92 regular cab longbed ranger is the right length for the courier but courier pinion flange is different.. i installed 7.5 rear from ranger so their it bolted right up for me
the wiring harness is what scares most people away from these motors. A siplified wiring scematic can be found on blindchickenracings website. Use harness from donor vehicle. if one is not included with your motor you can use a harness from 88-92 ford ranger. Also stinger-performance.com sells pnp ecus, microsquirt with factory ford connecters and other things 2.3turbo related.
cooling with factory radiator/fan will probrably not work.. you can upgrade to a 65 mustang radiator wich will work with small modifications and usually come with a elec. cooling fan.
Intercooling turbcharged vehicles is a must for reliability and power. Factory 2.3t intercoolers are placed directly above exhaust manifold wich can heat sink at idle and basicly not work. also you need a hood scoop to function properly. some people have converted the t.bird factory units to air-water cooling by welding plates to top and bottom and running secondary(small) radiator to keep it cool.. custom or universal is the way to go for power but understand there is not much room in courier without having to cut body panels so be sure this is the route you want to take be for you start cuting.
I hope this has been helpful if anything else comes to mind I will be sure to add it.
