Anyone know if the bellhousing bolt patterns will match up between the 'B' series engines and the 1.8? I already know how to squeeze more performance from the b3 (Ford Festiva engine) and I can't say the extra reliability and parts availability would hurt anything.
Thanks in advance for any info, J

I've found out that the B3 from a Festiva will bolt straight to the Miata bellhousing, so that (should) cover the cluch/engine mating side of the setup. And I think I remember seeing that the Miata trans will bolt to Our Mazda bellhousings, If that's the case I could keep my 4spd which the B3 even hopped up (90hp 100tq while still being reliable) stands NO chance of breaking... but I may be mistaken on the transmission/bell bolt patterns part.
I need to get access to a miata bellhousing and check myself, Trying to get some reliability from this thing, plus building that damn Glen-L camper is going to drive me nuts. Again thanks in advance for any info! J
EDIT: The miata bellhousing is a total "NO" unless one wanted to pay the $400-1500 for a stamped steel one. So, I guess I'm back to trying to figure out how to get a miata 5spd and B-series 4cyl into the truck. I don't care if this thing ever sees 100mph ever again, I would like very much though to see it (at least) as reliable as it was in '73.
