This actually started on the Increasing "performance" with exhaust thread.
I was thinking of upgrading the exhaust to get a few more HP when someone recommended switching to an electric fan. So I started looking for a fan that would fit inside the engine compartment between the radiator and the water pump pulley. On ebay, there is a 14" fan that says it fits the Courier. Well, it looks like it's nowhere near the right size, for one its 2.5" thick and theres only a 2 3/8" gap for the fan to fit in. The diameter is also too large, the radiator fin area is only 13"x18", so you would have to fabricate a mount, which would probably create less room to fit the fan.
I don't like the look of a fan in front of the radiator, so I searched around and found a Derale 10" super low profile fan that is 2 1/16" thick which would leave about a 5/16 gap and runs at about 960 cfm. The part number is 16110 and it's about 80 bucks, I may give it a try and see how it works. If it doesnt work as a puller, I guess I could put it in front of the radiator.
To be continued...

Theres also a Spal one that is 2.01" thick. Part number 30100435 (puller) or 30100320 (pusher).

Success! The Spal fan fit between the radiator and the water pump pulley with about 3/8 of an inch to spare.

New success, I originally bought a 185-195 coolant temp switch, but it didnt turn the fan on early enough, so I stepped it down to a 175-185 switch which seems perfect. (Just in case anyone needs the info in the future)
