So I've had this bogging issue for a year now and I haven't been able to figure it out, no matter what I do with the carb, it still does it. Today I checked the vacuum advance by sucking on the hose to it and there was no resistance, It never created any vacuum and the plates in the distributor never moved. Could this have been my problem the whole time???

You need advance no matter how you get it. You should be able to find a vacuum pod to bolt into your distributor.

Yeah, turns out that the vac advance was the problem the whole time. Originally I figured it was carb related (and so did everyone else) because I did a weber swap and never changed anything with the distributor. Jets were changed, fuel pump changed, regulator, etc and still had the same issue. I don't really mind that I bought all those parts because the previous owner used a lot of cheap parts and jerry rigged a lot of the wiring, so it gave me a chance to go through stuff and learn a little more about this obscure little truck. Now on to the next problem!

Thinking back, I do remember when I first put the carb on, I didn't have a regulator on it, so it was running super rich. It backfired and a vacuum cap popped of from the force. Maybe that backfire broke the diaphragm?

I think this may have solved one of the problems I've been having with mine. Thanks for the info!
