I have searched around and have seen some. Really trying to find the difference in a 289/302 and a 351w I know the 351w is taller and wider, that why a w is not in my mustang yet. Thinking maybe putting the roller 351w I have in the courier. I guess anything is possible with a torch and a welder. I'm getting lazy and would rather research for ever than to just do it.

I think the 289 just had a shorter stroke and maybe a smaller bore. I got the motor mounts for a V8 conversion from Power by Ace and the instructions say that you need to trim the firewall, fender wells, move the heater hose holes, etc, but nothing too extreme. There was a guy selling a converted Courier, he had the exhaust manifolds flipped and made the exhaust make a u-turn which seemed unnecessary to me, but maybe that was to avoid cutting the fender wells.

289/302 is just the stroke is longer and rod length the blocks are the same. 351w is the same bore with longer stroke and a taller deck height. Heads are interchangeable but the 351w head bolts are larger diameter. since the 351w has a higher deck the engine is wider and taller and the intake is wider. There are a few other differences like crank journal size, the weight, bla bla bla.
