Ive got a 5 speed trans from a 79 courier to replace the current 4 speed in my 78 courier. I used to have everything including the clutch fork, but some scumbag "scrappers" who used to room with me when I was living in NV got their dirty little tweaker mitts on that fork - so now all I have is the 4 speed fork. I'm 99% sure they're the same part, but I don't wanna get stuck in a week-long teardown with my only work/delivery vehicle. Gotta keep slinging those pizzas to (almost) pay the bills...

Hey Shaydetree, I’m new here to the forum and to owning a Courier and I’d like to make this 5-spd swap myself. I don’t have the answer to your fork question, but I’m hoping you can tell me what all I’ll need to do the trans swap.
Thanks, Sean

Just posted about this on another thread. The fork is not the same, try to get the fork with the trans when you buy it. I had to modify the 4speed fork to make it work.
