Way back in 2013 I went and checked out this little courier and ended up driving it home. My first courier was an orange 78. that was the truck I learned to drive a manual... but something about the first gens really spoke to me. Its been keeping me busy, to say the least. I knew very little about cars and this was my project to learn, grow, and appreciate mechanics. I didn't even have off-street parking at the apartment downtown I was living in at this point. I parked it under a bridge down by where I worked. I eventually found a house to rent with a tiny garage where I set up shop and began tearing everything apart. These 30-year-old bolts really test your patience. And with the toughness of all the bolts, I really thought the lug nuts were seized on as well, but that was when I learned they were left-hand threads. FUN TIMES! and more to come

The first phase in my project was to rebuild the suspension. Having such a small truck and it being on the ground felt so fun and go cart like. The truck was already lowered when i bought it... but has some pretty bad axle wrap going on and can tell you was not fun driving with any weight on it. I was tired of the axle hitting the frame and was ready to build something functional and stylish. Attachments:
