New to this forum so have patience with me. I have a 1974 Ford courier 1.8 with a 4speed transmission and the choke cable coming out of the fire wall is bad. I can't find a replacement. Would anyone know the part number for the cable and where I can purchase one? None on eBay, or know of where I could purchase a good used one. Also can anyone explain on how the idling works and where to adjust it. I turned the screw in where their is a small rectangler box with a wire going to the bottom of it but it doesn't change the idling, it idles to fast. I'm mixed up on how the throttle works and why the choke cable has two pieces to it, one going to the carburetor and the other one to a part that I have know idea what it's for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just reading some old posts here. If this is still an issue, I can shed light and maybe help you find a new choke cable.
