Installing a 2.3L in a 1974 Courier. I have an idea about what mounts i need to fabricate. Would like to see what others have came up with. So post some pics. Thanks  |

Getting started on a 2.3 turbo swap in my 72 Courier. I used 4 x 3 inch, .250 wall rectangular tubing, about 2.5 inches long if I remember correctly. I used 90 Mustang motor mounts. Had to scab on 1/8" plate on the side to fill out the motor mount well. Picture links following: imgur.com/uThg44nBy time I cut the tubing down to fit engine and frame, it would have been better to have used 3 x 3 tubing. This picture is of the frame mounts mostly done. imgur.com/8itAhh4Bolted into motor mount getting dimensions right. Wound up trimming the bottom of frame mount an inch to fit well. Well done, sir! Thinking about serp belts for my own 2.3, on account of one or more of the pulleys on the WP belt being just barely out of round & causing a slight squeal @ higher rpm. Any pics of the finished install?

I am not finished yet, most of the hard parts are in place. Still lacking the throttle linkage, clutch linkage and exhaust pipe. Also have to buy or build a front bumper to go around the FMIC and I hope I can piece together the grill to make it look finished. Although that stuff is going to have to wait while I cut down the wiring harness that came with the motor and get it wired up. I can take a picture in the next few days of my progress so far and post it.
