I used to be a member on what im guessing used to be the old ford courier forum. But I’ve been out of touch with my truck for some time But need some info on the cylinder heads. Does the 2.0 flow better then the 1.8 or vise versa any help is much appreciated

D here... I've built a couple both ways... 1.8 head on a 2.0 block and vice versa. The only real difference I've noticed is that the chambers are slightly smaller on the 1.8 heads I've used. This changes the compression ratio slightly, but otherwise the heads are about equal in stock form (from my experience). It seems to me that some porting, polishing, and maybe a slight increase in valve size would open the heads up, but due to budget restraints and other situations, I've never been able to play around with them.
Hope this helps a little!

Thanks for the info, i used to be on fcc and happy I found this site, I’ve got both motors sitting on the stand and wasn’t sure if spending the extra in working the 2.0 head was worth it since my 1.8 head is done

Personally, if you're that far into it, go ahead and build your 2.0 to drop into the truck. You'll thank yourself later for the bump up in power, especially if you plan on using the truck to haul or for work. The extra oomph also comes in handy merging onto the interstate

Well the bottom end of the 1.8 is already built and the 2.0 is not that’s why I asked. But my truck is the ‘73 I’ll try and post some pics on here later
